Lake Rousseau/Withlacoochee River Fishing Report

The fishing was much tougher than expected Thursday. Aside from the 30+ mile an hour wind coming out of the East and the resent cold front pulling the fish back from spawning, we also had heavy rains the day before and it turned a relatively clear river and lake into a brown soupy mess. We had all we could do to get a dozen Bass between us. We stopped and talked to just about every boat we came up on and the results were the same no matter what the method of attack. Four or five boats including two other guide boats with no fish to report of. When we came in to the ramp there were several other die hard fishermen loading there boats and besides from being battered by wind and waves had no fish to speak of for the day. It made our day of one fish approximately every 45 minutes look pretty good. Soon the lake will be clear and all will be as it was.
